Meet JG Wall
I’m Jim, an avid weather and sustainability enthusiast, and Amateur Radio operator. My wife and I are dedicated to preserving open space for water quality and conservation, which is essential for the environment and sustainability for future generations. We enjoy traveling, camping, reading, writing, and spending time with our family outdoors.
Together, we own and manage 40 acres southwest of Boomtown Austin, TX, in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. We have lived here for 20 years, but the land has been passed down in our family for generations since 1869. In 2017, we converted our acreage from agriculture use to wildlife conservation activities to maintain open space and preserve water quality.
Over the years, I have written articles for BobVila.com on sustainable product reviews, and we have gained considerable knowledge in the field of weather and sustainability. As an Amateur Radio operator licensed by the FCC 30 years ago, I attend Skywarn Storm Spotter training conducted by the National Weather Service.
Our aim is to share our expertise, experience, and knowledge on weather, sustainability, and eco-friendly practices.
Our mission is to inform and evaluate standard backyard weather equipment from analog to digital models. We also strive to provide insightful articles, product reviews, and tips about eco-friendly resources and the best way to protect our environment for future generations.
